WebPort Isaac has seen lifeboats launching off the north Cornish coast for over 100 years. Today the station operates an inshore D class lifeboat. This station is classed as a Discover station. Our crews from Discover stations are equally welcoming to visitors but many of these stations were built before visitors were considered. WebThe lifeboat station in Port Isaac was established in 1869, and in 2012 the whole lifeboat crew were awarded gallantry medals for a particularly dangerous rescue. In the history of the RNLI it is only the second time a whole crew has been awarded gallantry medals for a rescue on a D-class inflatable lifeboat.
