Phosphor bronze vs 80/20 bronze strings
WebJun 17, 2008 · 80-20's are generally considered a bit brighter sounding than PB's and are an alloy of 80% bronze and 20% tin. PB's tend to be slightly "darker" sounding than 80-20''s. How they sound will also depend on the gauge of the string. I have a set of D'Addario PB lights on my Martin OM-16GT, also a spruce-mahogany guitar, and I love the way they sound.
